Looking for DIY VHO Info
Hi Everyone,
I am thinking about ading a single 24'' VHO bulb to my hood in place of the NO 17W actin bulb I have in there now. I am not even sure if this would be possible. But I am looking for info on what parts I would need to put this together. And how costly it would be. Thanks, CaptK |

firstly, you owuld need a ballast. you have to make sure it is a vho ballast. I know advance makes one, but i dont know how much it would cost or even if it would be cheaper than buying one desgned for tanks.

Check this out Capt.
http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merch...y_Code=PFOvhor All you need besides this Retro kit is the bulb....and thats about 20 bux...which would put you into it for a total of 100bux plus shipping...and you would have the option of upgrading to a 48" bulb if you got a bigger tank later on HTH You can actually do it for about $65 bux...but this is a barebones kit and a kinda cheesy ballast and endcaps....I would go with atleast PFO ballast ....and if you can afford it then go ICECAP!
