Sorry I am new to sumps and overflows...
I was wondering if you coud use a second pump instead of an hob overflow to get water to your sump?
In case of a power outage, both pumps would quit though I'm not sure if syphoning would still occur.
It shouldn't matter as long as the feed lines and return lines were close enough to the rim that the sump could handle syphoning right?

ThanksMoving water is definetly not my specialty.

The return pump actually draws water from the overflow. If you were to pump water in and out of the sump you would have to somehow match the waterflow of both pumps. The overflow is the the only real way to go. (just 1 man's opinion)
