    Hello all,

I was out looking for this stuff.. HD, Lowes, OSH, Target, Petsmart, i couldnt find it.. where do you guys get it? also i bought some LOCTITE INSTANT GLASS GLUE (Contains Cyanoacrylate). Says hold parts together 15-60secs((instant?)) then cure for 24hours and wait one week before using item in dishwasher..can this be used?by the way im needing to use this to glue acrylic(lucite) together.

    Thanks

You are much better getting the WeldOn, at any plastics store, or online at TAP: http://www.tapplastics.com/plastics/adhesives.html
    Play well

    Weld on rules!!!!!!!

I love this stuff. I broke my overflow in 2 once and just put a bunch of weld on on there and it has been working fine for over 6 months

    Re: weldon 3, 16?

    Hey new here
I wanted to no if weldon 3,16 is good to repair a crack in my 50g fish acrylic thank. i have a 3/8 crack in the center of my tank and its not leaking any water but am afraid its going to spread more and cause a leak or just crack open all together. I found this other thing calld Liquid Solvent Cement for acrylic i havent found this one and the only place i found it is online. well can any one answer me witch is better to use and if it will last will the weld on 3,16 hold and seal the crack or the acrylic liquid solvent cement will be better?

    Re: weldon 3, 16?

is it a "true crack", or what i call a "chemical crack". Sometimes acrylic tanks will show fractures if cleaning solutions with solvents are used on them....I have seen this many times, and my friends daughter wiped the front of their tank down with some cleaning solution. The front of the tank, where she wiped, looks like a car windshield (safety glass) that has been shattered....

The tank never leaked, or failed, but it was ruined.

If its a true fracture, the Weldon may work, but it is maid to bond two pieces together, so the weldon would have to penetrate between the cracks.

    Good luck.

Te best way to fix it, is to use the weldon with a small piece of acrylic (at least 1/2" bigger then the crack, in length and with, like a patch), and glue it to the inside of the tank, over the crack....it will look ugly, but it is your best and strongest bet. Make sure the area is dry and clean.
I swim with them, eat them, catch them, care for them, but never get tired of "them"....
