DIY Canopy Custom Design

I have been searching for a certain shape of canopy but have had no luck finding anything close to what I need. I have talked to someone at aquariumstandplans.net about designing a custom set of plans. I have only built 1 stand before so I don't want to get in over my head. Should I just try and build my own?

Do you have an odd shaped tank or something? Theres nothing off the shelf that would work?

You can always go the custom route, but you'll probably pay more for it than you did for your tank and stand combined.

If you build your own, strength is not so much of an issue. The main things are to make sure there's no possible way for it to tip into the tank, not to use metal components subject to corrosion, and to build in some sort of ventilation if you keep high intensity lighting in it.
You don't want to trap heat for two reasons...tank temp control, and the fact that heat diminishes the performance and lifespan of most types of lighting.
