I made it so I could have a large cab/door in the middle for viewing of my refugium area.

Looks good. What are you going to finish it with?
Cool, nothing like doing it yourself eh?
Play well

Timing has an awful lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.
looks good, nice simple design that is more than strong enough ,from the looks.are you going to do any "finish' work?
Havent really thought much on finishing it out....But im sure it will be with something nice maybe plywood oak? Iono though yet....Im kinda too zoned in on the tank and just the structural part of it right now :P Plus im sure I will be tweaking and playing with it for mos. so until I get everything set just right I wont even bother putting the finishing (cabinets etc.) on it![]()

My gosh, you could park a truck on that thing![]()

That is very stout looking little stand you got there. I am sure you will have fun putting a tank on top of that and finishing it up. Keep us informed, love the pictorial updates.
i know what you mean about waiting to finish it.i probly wont put the doors and trim on until after the tank is running.my plumbing is almost done and the "big test "will be within a couple days ,im so excited/worried
,i hope this thing works...........expect pics of the wjole deal

Nice stand...looks extremely strong. But I was wondering what size sump you are going to be using and if you will be able to get it inside the stand from the front, or will you have to slide it in from the end?
organic:
I have the tank but im waiting to get it out of my P/U ....its not like i can just throw it over my back...heh....Once I get it out of my pickup and onto the stands I will take pics and post themIm very satisfied so far FWIW.
LOL GreenLincoln....funny u mentioned that....My old 55g tank is serving as my sump/refugium....I got it back a couple of days ago (had the glass shop drill a hole into it, and cut me some glass baffles), and Yes i just slid it in from the side....But I didnt really think about it til I was almost done w/ the stand :P

Cool Scubadude...I had this problem when I set up my 90. I added a sump after the tank was up and running, and was shocked to find I couldn't get it inside the stand. I've since added a bigger sump, but it sits outside the stand. I always wonder if I can remove the middle support brace to get the sump inside the stand where it belongs...??
Anyway, I'm glad you realized this before you wrapped the stand in plywood...if I were you, I would put a door on the end of the stand...just in case.
Good Luck and send us more pics!
LMAO.....Look at my website on my 90g tank....Y do you think i have a 10g and a 20g tank in there as sump/refugium.....cuz I couldnt fit something bigger in there unless I broke down the tank and went from up above :P.....I know exactly where you are coming from.....Boy when you build a big system like this you have to think think think....then think somemore!Originally posted by GreenLincoln
