Plumbing sump

Hello! I just about completed my sump, now it's time to do some plubbing!! I need to know how thick the pvc should be?

This is what I have right now:

600gph overflow
20g sump with bio balls on one side
Mag 7 return pump

Now for plumbing, should I use a spray bar and where to place it...any advice????? Please...!!

I would suggest against the spray-bar route with that amount of flow. What I did, was simply split the return at the top of the tank and run the returns to each corner and aimed them both toward the front middle of the tank. I placed one return about 6.5" below the surface and the other about 3" down for more surface agitation.

I don't understand what you mean about the thickness of the PVC. I think the return off the Mag 7 is 3/4" isn't it? So use that, don't reduce or make it larger it will reduce flow. Just regular sched 40 will do. You may want to consider flexible PVC or even braided vinyl tubing as this will cut down on the noise.

Don't forget to add union fittings to parts like your pump so youcan remove it for cleaning easily.
