    DIY calcium reactor

    hi everyone!

Does anyone have any diy plans for a reactor? Or maybe some pics with instructions. I have been searching around but the ones I found are a bit confusing.

If you can wait until April, C-SEA (Cleveland Saltwater Enthusiasts Association) is going to hold a calcium reactor workshop. For about thirty five to forty U S dollars, each participant will receive the parts for a calcium reactor and guidance in assembling it. April 18th 7:30 PM at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.

C-SEA is a few hours from Toronto so you'd have to plan on a long ride home or a stayover. It is a long one day trip, but it is on the edge of possible. When we were newlyweds my wife and I got in the car and drove to Toronto, bought all the carmel candy bars a store had on display, the brand in plaid that you had to buy in Canada then, and drove home with two cases of them. I drove, she ate candy bars. Dill pickles and ice cream I could have gotten around the corner, but she had to have those candy bars.

    P. S. Toronto to/from Cleveland is about five hours each way. The zoo is right off I 71 and easily connected to from I 90. Coming from your direction, you would best come down 480 and there is a well marked Zoo exit there also. Links to a map provided by the zoo are on the C-SEA website.

Did you try this site which has detailed instructions and explanations of the reasons behind the design. Worth reading even if you decide to build your first one in a workshop.

i cracked my reactor so i wanted to get it going again. Rather than buy another i made this simple one for my 50 gallon tank. i haven't hooked it up yet because i didn't make the plug on top yet.
