ok, i am bringing up the thought about building a 7x7 shark pondand so far my parents are going along with it!
![]()
so far i have it planned out pretty good, i will be getting a bamboo shark and keeping it in my 72 gal (which i am in the process of converting to salt) until it starts outgrowing the tank. then i will put him in the pond, which i have drew up a diagram of...
i have a few questions as far as the construction goes, what would prove to be the best liner i could use? is there anyway to seal the liner to glass? i think ive seen it done before..
if i stain or paint the wood (and most likely i will) what is the best kind for undergoing the stress the evaporation of salt water will bring?
construction will most likely be next spring just in case that has any relevance (i screwed up the use of a big word by spelling it wrong) to the construction
the walls will most likely be constructed of 4x4's with 4x4's under the liner as a shock absorber (spelling?)
mark
p.s. i know many people are going to be against this, 7x7 is a very very very large tank, much larger than has been recommended to me. so i am confident the animal will be as happy as he could be in captivity.

i bet it would be the best fish he ever had ;) i'd make sure i added alot of stresscoat to the tank the day before
) plus i have to pay a portion of the electric bill to cover the all the lights and filtration systems for 3 tanks we settled on 5 - 10% depending on the bill, which i have no problem with.
