    Question Drilling acrylic ?

    I finally got someone to build me an acrylic sump. However, since I didn't know what return pump I was going to use (And still don't ) He did not drill a hole for the bulkhead to the return.

    So, what kind of drill bit do I need to drill acrylic?

    A hole saw should work fine....just take your time and stop often and put a little water on the bit.....also you might want to clamp the acrylic in place while drilling it...and put a piece of plywood underneath the acrylic. Get the bit going at full speed before you start cutting HTH

    Yup. A good, old fashioned wood hole saw frome Home Depot is all you need. I've done this several times with no ill effects.

    2 + 2 != 4

    Two is only loosely associated with two by a plus sign and therefore doesn't enter the equation at all since it is only there by mere complicity. We shouldn't count it and leave well enough alone.

    Acrylic has got to be the easiest thing in the world to drill..I drilled a couple holes in a tank once with a Roto-drill...if one of those didn't mess up the tank, then almost nothing will....just like they said go s....l...o....w.....
