Red face Well I thought I was done

Mass foam attack required me to put a bigger collection cup....I know its not pretty but it is working well....I have to clean the skimmer out twice a day theres so much muck And as you can see theres not much clearance, as its foaming onto the greenhouse.

Heres a pic of the micro bubbles

Smile Skimmer No. 2

Well I tried a different design after the first one, and if it works I will probably modify the other skimmer. I made a bigger collection cup with 1" drain instead of 1/4"

The weight of the skimmer is mainly in the bottom portion, so no it wont tip over. I did make a lid for the CC but here again there are a few tweaks/adjustments that need to be made to these skimmers before I have them perfected the way I want them.

Actually the other way around....the DIY snailman skimmers replaced the beckets :P Becketts require alot of pump and a DIY snailman CC skimmer doesnt, thus the electrical consumption was much less on a DIY snailman CC skimmer and more effecient for the larger volume systems I was running....becketts are good skimmers for tight areas and powerful skimming though IMO.

Beckett housing

Thanks for taking the time to post, I appreciate the help but what I am looking for is the housing used on the current aerofoamer. It works better because of the lower air volume and resulting vacum stability.

Can anyone take one of these apart and send the pics or give me a materials list?

I know it's made from 1 1/4 " fittings, possible an emptied checkvalve union combo piece.

Thanks!

Thanks Scuba, I had been wanting to build a DIY skimmer, "just cause" and the Snailmans skimmer looks like the one I'm going to try....

Skripo, not sure if its the new aerofoamer housing but a 1'' PVC repair fitting is what i used, it's a sliding tube & housing arrangement,be sure the top unscrews, some don't.Keith

Just saw a nice set up using the Beckett on Creative Reefs. DIY HSA By Ian McDonald. I think that the effeicency is inproved if you use it coming from the top of the skimmer.
