Your picture doesnt tell me much. This appears to be a Co Current skimmer which is NOT as effecient as a CounterCurrent skimmer. I personally would make sure ALL of your water comes in from near the top of the skimmer and goes out near the bottom of the skimmer, and using an airstone instead of a venturi. The secondary tube inside the skimmer is oldschool too! They are ineffecient ways to direct your air column. You could actually ditch one of the PH's and replace w/an airpump and use the DIY diffuser he has on his site. Remember Co Current means that the bubbles flow in the same direction as the current in the skimmer....Counter current flows in opposite direction, which is MUCH MUCH better and allows for more air/water contact time! HTH

snailman has some great stuff for DIY'ers thats 4 sure!

After researching more, I will build the snailman skimmer design as it is.

I am looking for references about air pumps.

Tetra Dec and lufter are out of stock.
Which air pump can I use instead?
Piston air pumps are out of questions.

Thanks !!!
