Hello all, I am building a chiller from a dehumidifier. I've removed all the aluminum fins from the cold side radiator, and once all the tubing is in a sealed box; run the return to tank water through it. Anyway I'm wondering what to coat the tubing with; i've heard shellac or fiberglass but not sure. Any suggestions?
Thanks Chris |

Don't do it!
I have talked to many people who have tried this and failed. The coatings have all leaked, (even high grade epoxy) allowing the seawater to attack the tubing. One idea is to continue on but use freshwater, then run it through tubing in a container or your sump. I would definately advise against the saltwater vs. coated coils. $0.02 |
