    I think you need other components in your mixture to work with acrylic. SOme components like acetic acid I think slow down the time to join acrylic. I was thinking of experimenting on my own mixture but I haven't been able to locate a nearby chem lab yet. I been using another acrylic solvent made by GE and it does a pretty good job.

    My idea involves Denture acrylic and monomer. you'd need to boil it a few times in 10hr increments in order to release the leftover chemical, but it's strong enough to do it. (In my own theory)

    well i just had to reply to this thread and say i have a 72*24*36 acrylic tank 5/8 in thickness and it does in deed bow in the front but i have had it for five years no crazeing or bubbles in seams and the seams are crystal clear and tank is doing great. so i think that there are limits and better safe then sorry but in my case i have had no problems yet...... knocking on wood. my tank was made from acrylite gp
