building a large tank
hey guys
I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to build a large tank on their own. I mean like a 200 gallon plus. How much do 200 gallons run, price wise that are just from the store or purchased used. I was just wondering because I think I might try to build a big one. Jeff |

Where abouts in Kansas are you? If you are near Kansas City you might give Fish World a call, (816) 220-7766. I had them quote me a Perfecto 265g and a All-Glass 180 a while back but I can not remember the prices now. They were very reasonable and beat every LFS I checked with. I ended up with a All-Glass 155 Bowfront for $750.00, but the bowfronts and corner tanks tend to run a little higher.
If you go used, who knows what kind of a deal you might run on to. I would not give any more than 50% of the tanks original value. But then some folks just want the tank moved out of their way and you could get a great deal. Just have to keep your eyes open.

I did not even know that store existed. I am going to go straight up there this weekend and check out what all they have. |
