Wink Scuba.. Guess what..

I made a new reactor.. Had some free time between semesters and decided to build an idea I had in my head for a while now(One of the many). I'll put the pics up. they are pretty much self explanatory. Well kinda. Hooked it up tonight on a tub of LR. We will see how it all works.

In a nutshell;

Dual flow reactor. Up and Down. With a spray bar for injecting the water. 6.75" square about 20" high. Holds 2 containers of ARM. Very simple design and was a breeze to build. Eheim 1250 for circulation and a mini jet 606 for feed.

No bubble counter. The poly tubing from the CO2 feeds into another line with the water feed to the reactor. I watch the bubbles flow by there. I turned it on yesterday and nailed the pH and alk I wanted on the dot. So I may not make a counter at all(I'll see if there are any scraps at the acrylic shop today. if there is some I'll make one if not. no worries. ). I may just go buy a flow meter and that would be it. It is actually on a big tub of LR right now with a couple of VHO's on it.

I have a tank but it isn't set up. Someday it might be. lol

Yeah I sold the cube.

reefer504,

Sorry I don't build to sell. My break for school ends today and once I am back in class I will probably fade off into the distance again till school ends in june. Sorry.

Cheers,

Well a bit of an update.

Working like a charm.

Running it at about 80 ml/min and 15-18 BPM. Effluent is at pH6.9 and dKh of ~24. Seems the venturi for the intake of water and the recirc line is working great. Better than I expected actually. I took the BPM up to about 30 and it dropped my pH to 6.5 in short order.

Keep in mind that I am running this on a 30 gallon bin full of LR. For now.

Cheers

Correction on the BPM. Sitting at 10-12BPM right now. Other setting was shortly after hooking it up.
