    DIY skimmer (or do most of it yourself)

    Quick question here- If I purchased/collected all the materials myself for a skimmer, couldn't I get an acrylic to do the precision cutting and drilling for me at a reasonable price? I could assemble it myself easy enough, I just don't have to tools or know-how to make the cuts.

    I'm gonna need another skimmer later this summer and I cant pay $500 again for it. I have a lifereef model that's the simplest design...

    yes, most places that manufacture acrylic will cut it to what ever size and shape you want. as far as price goes depends on the manufacturer.
