From IceCap:
You'll get more light output from your fluorescent lamps if you shield them from intense heat or use a fan to control the hood's temperature.

Hey thank a bunch Andy so I should go ahead nad use the individual reflectors for the p.c. then? Iam gonna use two 4" fans on the sides for cooling and probably one large like 8" on the back if the need arrises!!Thanks again Andy..

No one else has any ideas about this..I mean one p.c. is gonna be like 2-3"s away and this will be ok..I hoep so I already mounted the mh's althgoh i mena I could move them if need be..
I have seen two manufactured hoods now with the PC's less than 2 inchs from the halide bulb.
I saw this on the new CustomSeaLife 24 inch Metal halide/Power compact which has 2 32 watt PCs' and a single 10k 175 watt halide and the 48inch which has 2 10k 175watt halides and 2 65 watt PCs'.
Don't know how reliable they are, but someone is doing it now.
