I TOLD you guys my brain is fried. Duh...there's the pic! I've read that you can get certain ballasts made by Advance from stores like Graybar that power Iwasaki bulbs. I read it on the 9000 page Iwasaki thread. I'm still clueless and have NO idea what I want to do. Thank you Seabuzz.

Haha well if you dont want to skimp on lighting check out that thread that thread on the tank with 2200 watts over a 54 gal tank.....This guy has some beautiful acros....but back to your dilemna Joanne and the deal with your heating and keeping the light in....You can buy some vents (just make sure they are metal, and preferably anodized so they dont rust) and they are directional vents so you will get very little light leakage but good ventilation....if you installed a couple of them that would help alot im sure....ya know kind of like the vents for ac outlets in each room...but a smaller scale. You got me thinking now and I want to redo my whole canopy.

This is nuts!!! I can't decide. The canopy idea, I thought, was a good one...and it's a combination of several canopies I've seen. Good idea on the vents Rocky!!!!!

scubadude, you can get brand new mh ballast for not much more than that at local electric supply houses. I can get used mh ballast for almost nothing. I would imagine that was either a good deal at the ESH or a used one.

Shadetree, nice comparisons of the lights. I think for the money its hard to be the Iwasaki.
