I have missed a lot of the discussion here. I have been off the boards for a few days. At any rate most of the confussion seems to stem from the different values for measurands. To this I say that these values cannot be held as absolute or a "gold standard". This table is simply my effort to put together a comparisson that linked as many of the recent test on bulbs into one chart.

Other test setups will vary and be poor for comparison. At this point I have limited the matrix to these tests because the setups are almost identical. Thus leading to the highest likelihood of reapeatable results and accurate data for comparison.

It would be awesome if all the bulbs and all the ballasts were tested under the same conditions. We could then see the true values for bulb outputs. It would also require a much more indepth test with multiple bulbs tested multiple times in order to achieve a statistical mean value for each bulb from each manufacturer. Anything short of this type of analysis is of little real value, showing little more than individual results for a specific bulb. At some point there may be funding to do something like that, but for now this is the best we can do. Take it as reference with a grain of salt or toss it aside as a wash.

Ninong,

You may remember my post on the 400w MH the other day ?

Well since then i had a change of heart (along with my wife )and decided to return it and purchase another 250 w unit......i've gone with another BLV 10k in this too.
I figured i can get some more photperiod options with x2 250's over a single 400w.
I can now set up mt IKS to do some sort of midday crossover etc.

Cheers

Marc
