Congrats Kevinpo. I think your tank is something that we all strive for. I'm having a hard time seeing the true size of the tank. I would love to see it in person.

What can I add to what have been said already on all the boards? Your tank is one of the best tanks I've seen and is my dream tank to have.You have been very helpfull to me and many other members here and other places and I can't think of a more deserving or more contributing person then you.

Looking good Kevin, well deserved. I like the orange cap. I see you took out the Rubbermade containers and replaced them with a sump/ref. Any reason behind that? Bob

I haven't heard from you in ages! I hope your tank is still doing well. Your site was down last I checked. You were very helpful in planning my setup a couple of years ago.
I replaced the Rubbermaid sumps for a couple of reasons. First I had too much velocity flowing from one tub to the other using 2 - 2" bulkheads. This caused the level in one to be higher than the other and forced micro bubbles into the pump intake. Also when I added plants it was hard to keep them in place due to the water speed. The custom made sump gave me more capacity (112 gal vs 66) and allowed me to add sand. I used it as an acclimation tank for some of my more delicate fish as the added size gave them plenty of room.

Yes I've been MIA for a while but I'm back. What did I miss? LOL I was very busy and was burnt out posting on all the boards and messing with the web site and tank. The site went down about a year ago and I never started a new one

It started to feel like a job instead of the fun hobby it once was. The tank is doing fine and I haven't added much in 18 or so months. Enough about me, you are the Featured member!
About the new sump,Yea I did the same thing for the same reason. I had a Rubbermaid container as a sump and was getting a lot of microbubbles from the skimmers. Rubbermaid's are nice and cheap but are very hard to fit with baffles because they bow and almost nothing sticks to them (glue for the baffles). I ended up using a 40 gal breeder that has worked out really well.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful example of a Reef tank. I learn so much from the big setups, and am trying to implement that knowledge into my Nanoreefing. I enjoy the large tanks very much, but unfortunatly am not able to keep one in my current location.

You have an amazing system and some really beautiful corals. Congratulations on a job well done! I also respect your statement about the fragging and how aquaculture is the best way to save our natural resources that unfortunatly are depleteing. If we would like our children to be able to enjoy this hobby one day that is the mentality that we all need to take. My hat tips to you.

Well done kevin your tank totally rocks just when we all thought our tanks where kinda reef like you just blow us all away into next week you should change your handle to at least kevinpo AKA reefjedi cause whatever you wanted to do in this hobby or as far as aquaculture is concerned your frags are in good hands .

May I ask why do you only have one Royal Gramma in your beautiful tank? I think it would be a perfect setting for a harem of Royal Gramma. They are so beautiful and such nice community fish. They are much bolder and much more natural in group.
