Water sprite

I just got a water sprite plant today from walmart(yes, I know walmart, they seem to have better fresh tanks then my lfs) along with some glowlight tetra, anyway I wanted to know if there was any way to prop it, so I can make a few more of them.

As it grows I just clip off the top part and replant. Often times though it grows so fast and spreads itself. Instead of lopping off the top section I find I have a hard time keeping up with it's growth.
