Finally went to cichlids
Today I got a pair of convicts and 1 beautiful jack dempsy cichlid
there working out who's going to be the boss of the tank right now and which side they'll stake their clame to.
the jack dempsy is around 3 inches and more tanish than any other jd of I've seen before, but the lfs has had him along time and he's grown alot so I know he/she is healthy.
the convicts are both around 1" 1/2 and aren't trying to fight the jd to much however, they aren't getting to bullied either, they more just get out of the way.
The male is a little smaller and has pointer fins so I assume he's the male while the female is a little bigger with more rounded fins and has a few small orange scales it looks like, plus the male is chasing her around a bit(she doesn't seem to mind) which I think is a sign of trying to mate right?
Any thoughts?
thanks
