When to replace...
I have had my Ushio 250w 10,000k bulbs for over a year now. So I figured it was time to replace the bulbs with new. I recieved the new bulbs the other day and I only replaced the one, and I cant tell the difference. Does that mean it wasnt time to change? Or is there something else I just cant see, maybe the intensity?? How long do bulbs normally last, I run mine on 10 hours cycle.
Thanks, Matt |

Hey Matt!
Are you talking about double ended bulbs or mogul's? The double endeds do last longer. Keep in mind as mentioned that it's not so much the visible intensity as it is the spectrum shift that is of concern. I'd say if you have used your old bulbs for 1 year, it is time for a change regardless of the type. If using mogule base, I would change about every 10 months, DE's every year. My thoughts, |
