dual bulbs/single reflector

Hello,
I was thinking of trying to burn 2 MH bulbs in a single reflector.
I will be combining the 6500 bulb with another bulb ( radium or xm)
My light hood DIY, uses spiderlight reflectors. I plan on cutting a reflector into thirds and attaching athird to the existing reflector. This would make the reflector about 21" long.
I would remove the existing mogule socket and reattach it to the reflector offcenter to the left and then add another socket to the offcenter right. Bulbs would be end to end.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I hope that this will mix the colors of the bulbs. And leave me with more options in the future. I really don't want to rebuild the hood again.
I have been using the 6500 iwasaki bulbs for some time and would like to improve the color of things.
If you have any suggestions, please feel free to let me know.
THANKS<

Can you modify the reflector to have one run perpendicular and the other parallel?

dattack,
I had not thought about that.
I dont think that the bulb would fit perpendicular . I would have to measure it. Have you tried that setup?

My thinking was...after seeing other setups...when different bulbs are run side by side they make a tank look like it has stripes of color.
If i run the bulbs parallel front to back then the colors would mix.
I'm not sure if there would be any(heat) problems with the bulbs being inches from one another, so i thought i would offset the bulbs end to end
there was a thread here that spoke of some one making dual bulb reflectors. but i couldnt get any contact info.
