Question What kind of lights do I have?

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of lights I have?

The hood holds four lights. They are double lights so it looks like eight but it's really four. There are two whites and two blue actinic. The hood also has a fan to keep things cool in there.

The hood also comes with two ballast boxes. On the underside of the ballast boxes each box says.....

Custom Sealife Brighter Solutions UPC29600
2 Lamp 96 Watt Ballast Assembly
1.45 Amps 174 Watts 120 Volts

-Are these lights OK for a 45 gallon reef?
-What is the largest tank these lights will work on?
-Can I pretty much put anything in the tank (as far as these lights are concerned)?
-What shouldn't I put in the tank?
-Since the ballast box seems to get a bit hot what surface is safe to keep these boxes on?

Thanks a M I L L I N for any help you can provide.

They are Power Compact lights and are pretty good to keep soft corals and LPS corals; might even be able to keep a Montipora sp. SPS coral there.

The maximum size tank would depend on the length of the fixture, I am guessing it is 48" long fixture so any 4' tank would be fine with the above corals.

The ballast's should be fine under your stand or sitting on a piece of wood on the floor. They do get warm but I have never heard of any fires being started due to sitting on some surface. To be safe, I would put them on a piece of wood.
