When I did a Google search on FloreX, I came up with insulation. Do you have a picture, or a link to where you saw them?
That would help, cause I haven't ever heard that name before.
Hi, I'm setting up a new 100 gallon reef tank and need advice on the lighting. I've heard about a new florescent bulb, made by FloreX, that claims to put out the same light as metal halides, but is much more economical. Does anyone have experience using these flood lights in a reef system? Do they work, or will it just be a waste of money?
Thanks!

Sorry about that, it is actually "FluoreX™" They are listed on ebay -- here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=2374890299
thanks!
Hi Artic blue, welcome to Reefland!
The term caveat emptor was invented for deals like that. I hate to tell you this but that's just a $19 LOA lamp from Home Depot. And it is most definitely not 500 watts. It's a cheapy 65w fluorescent fixture that some folks use over their refugiums with varying degrees of satisfaction.
That guy is selling them at the incredible price of only $35 plus another $15 shipping = $50 each. Hurry before they're all gone.![]()
I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing at the fact that someone would actually write such a deceptive ad.

LOA Lights 6500K Fire Sale.... Hurry supplies are limited
Looks the same thing posted here. What a JOKE!!!
The bulb is a 65 watt florescent with about a 6500 K color.
The ballasts used have not been proven reliable in long term use, as heat tends to waste them.
It is in no way even close to 500 watts output.
You would be better buying a regular/conventional NO florescent ballast at home depot, and a couple of Phillips 6500 K 48" "natural light" bulbs and wiring them up instead.
Play well
