My tank is FOWLR with inverts, mushrooms and zoos (some are not doing well, some great), and I was thinking of adding an open brain and/or candy cane coral. Will I need more light? The tank is 72X18X18.

Can you fit all 6 bulbs in the hood? That's what I would do, put all 6 of them on. I have a similar hood except for a 75 gal and it will fit 6 vhos in the hood. So i would stagger the lights. For softies, URI does recommend a split number of Actinic White and Super Actinic Blue. For SPS or hard corals I would get 2 Actinic Whites and supplement that with your 36" actinic blues. Either way, I believe your corals will be happy with either choice. Also, with the Actinic White instead of the Super Actinic Blue, your tank will look a little whiter, with a slight less hint of blue. So then aesthetics come to play.
