The booklet says if it's not wired by a licensed electrician, it voids the warrenty. How is Ice Cap going to know whether or not an electrician has done it?
I don't have wiring experience other than common sense and a hard science background, and I build my own computers. If I take the thing to a hardware store, will they be able to point out the proper plug and on/off switch that I need? Thanks |

Andy the head guy from Icecap requents this and other boards..Especially reefcentral.. Ask him exactly how to wire it if you have any questions and iam sure you won't have any warranty problems..And as I recall they are really nice about helping customers he's answered a few of my questions in the past and I don't even own any of there products..Dan
Here's Icecaps Q&A section link over at reefcentral.. http://www.reefcentral.com/vbulletin...=32&daysprune= [This message has been edited by Bamm Bamm (edited 05-04-2001).] |

flashing lights
i am having a similar problem with an old ice cap 430 w three 75 watt vho bulbs. after a long time in a box i am finally able to put a tank together since my last one nearly 10 years ago. i can get the lights to come on at most times but very often they just blink once and then go out. i thought the power might not be enough and so i took them over to a 20 amp box without anything else pulling power from it but got the same result.
i am a poor mofo and really would have a hard time getting the money together for another ballast. is there something that can be done about this? thanks in advance. |

Hi bigreddog1934,
![]() Old thread here but...Make sure the bulbs are making solid connections with the endcaps, a loose connection will do this every time. |

Yes it would happen to every bulb if only one wasn't seated well.
reevs: When you get to the 4th bulb, does it kill the other 3? I will contact Icecap to see if I can get them to help you out. ![]() |

The 660 can fire 440w max, so you should be fine with that. I still think it is an endcap, but I'm not the expert. I have PM'ed Icecap to get them to respond to this thread.
