HD MV ballast

Will this work? On Reefs.org I saw a post that HD had a MV ballast and socket for $19. Bulbs.com has a Philips MV 175watt 6800K bulb for $10.37 and $4.90 for shipping, total $34.97. The bulb # is 319657, shape is ED28,mogul base, 7400 lumens and a CRI of 20. Is this too good to be true?

Sorry, but it won't work. Mercury vapor lamps have the wrong spectrum and would not work for reef tanks.

Perhaps you could see if HD also carries a 250 watt MV setup, then you could plop in a 250 watt Iwasaki 6,500 K
