Lightbulb -== 250w NON-MH bulb??? ==-

Any one every tried one of Weisslite bulbs??? They claim to be "superior to many lamps currently on the market" and need no ballast- (cheap alternative to MH lighting). I wonder what the spectrum is??? Do they really rival MH lighting?

It's an incandescent lamp. That's about all I know about it. Some folks say that the company that markets this product has a fondness for hyperbole.

i bet you its the same as a homedepot flood light. ive noticed people will sell anything to make a quik buck. the golden rule is if its cheap or sound allright, spend $200 more dollars than that! that way you dont waste the $100 dollars and then find out it sucks and still go buy that $300 dollar mh system!

I agree, It does look like a flood light. However, I am using PC lighting and already have a bulb socket installed in my hood (for 15 w sunrise/sunset ambient light + 03 actinics) I figured if this bulb was decent, I could just pop it into the socket and add 250 w to my setup, I’m using 10k PCs so they would whiten up the spectrum. Plus, I can’t use MH lighting—my canopy is the Oceanic (72g bow) PVC/plastic stuff 6in from waterline…..

When used in conjunction with other Weiss products it will grow hair on a bowling ball, improve your sex life, cure the common cold, and properly dispose of nuclear warheads among other things.

Guess I better stick with just the PCs for right now...Sounds like these suck; waiste of $$$--- Anyone have any Ideas on how I can get some MH lighting above my tank (72 bowfront) with my current setup?? I dont think they make wooden "fitted" bow canopys- that's why I went with the oceanic PVC/ plastic stuff.
