Hi big 5!
I don't use a 1000w but personally I think it would be overkill for your tank in regards to producing heat. I think a 400w in addition to your 2-250w will be more than enough.![]()
does anyone run one?
what kevlin?
got pics?
how long of a photo period?
i read the bulbs have to be 15 in off the water - could they be at 10 inch off the water?
i run 2 250 20000k over an 100g and want to simulate mid day sun is a 1000w to extreme? or would a 400w 10000k be better?

The heat both the 10,000K and 20,000K bulbs generate using a sunlight supply ballast is incredible. The reflectors actually have a 2" duct built into them to remove the heat. One will heat a good sized room to 80F without any problem when run 8-9 hours a day.
IMO only to be used on tanks that are more than 36" deep growing high light corals.

You have more choices in the 400 watt category and you can now get 400 watt electronic ballasts which will save some electricity. The 10000 watt bulbs are extremely hot and as stated above are not what you need...
