Don't know what size refugium you are using, but I really like the LOA 65watt PC's on mine. I run it over a 5 gallon tank, and the macro algae is growing at an incredible rate. I also have xenia, and a small (size of quarter) captive propped goniopora.

Here's a link to what I did: http://perrysreef.members.easyspace....e/growout.html

As an update, the rapid growth of the algaes in there wouldn't let me keep any SPS frags, so its solely a refugium/ATS. The light can be found at home depot, and at menards...ect. Its in the floodlamp section and sells as a Lights of America flourex.

Cool What Temperature PC bulbs for a refugium?

This is a drop-in refugium, dropped into a larger algae tank. So in the refugium there will be invertabrates and one or two types of small algae (mat, maybe) and in the larger tank red tang heaven and maybe caulerpa. No corals or fish, of course.

What kind of light do these different organisms like?

Have a two * 13 watt watt retrofit kit that's almost together, except for the bulbs. I was using it as a combo moon light and spy light on my main tank, so I already have one actinic bulb (dark blue!) and one red spy bulb... the little PC bulbs are cheep, so I can buy more.

Thoughts?
