Post OVERKILL???

Well would 2x400 watt halides and 2x55 watt PC's be overkill on my 80 gallon tank? Im thinking no just making sure it wouild have mostly SPS/Clams in it.

Overkill, no way! Sounds like it'll be a nice setup.

Sounds good to me blue. One concern will be heat. I have 2X250 MH Iwasakis and 2 95 watt VHOs actinics, and temp rises well into the 80s. We have the same tank, and the setup you're proposing sounds awesome!!

Regards,
Ilham

I have 1 250w 6500k and 1 400w 6500k AND 2 55w actinic PCs over my 30G. My temp goes up maybe 1-2 degrees during the day.

I would go with Iwasakis, just because they are cheaper than other bulbs, and coral seems to grow well.
