Post ballast crackleing

just got through moving a 180 gallon reef ..12 hours later..plub in the ballast and go to turn on lights..five minuites into the deal i hear a loud cracking sound come from under the standand smell the smoke ..flickers of light coming out of the ballast which was an icecap 175 watt mh...

i believe some water got into the ballast when moving it although there was no noticable water near it..but it was mounted in a bad spot in the stand years ago.

From IceCap:
Call 800-742-3227 ext. 25 and explain what you observed to Dave. It could be in the ballast or harness. Don't ignore it.
