MH 175 with 250 ballast?

My neighbor is getting rid of a dual PFO MH 250 watt ballast, and I am wondering if there would be any problems using my german 175 watt 10k bulbs (that I just bought last month) with that 250 watt ballast instead of the 250 watt bulbs one would normally use?

I figure if the 175 bulbs would work, I could upgrade to the 250 watt bulbs on the next bulb replacement.

Sorry, it won't work. The bulbs would very likely explode.
