i order a aquamedic ocean light 250 de MH and was wondering does your ballast vibrate? mae a hmmmmmmmmmmmm. sound?

is it ok to blow air directly to the bulb? it is ok to just put my new light on my tank their are only crabs, mushroom, lr,LS, and 3 damsel.

I would not blow air directly across the bulb, moving it across the fixture is a better choice. Being a DE fixture, I would imagine it would be hard to blow air directly on the bulb with the UV shield in place.
As for acclimation, if you add it right to your tank anda recommended level of ~7" for a full light period, you are going to risk your corals stressing a bit from the immediate increase. I would recommend starting the light much higher than 7" to start and for a reduced photo period. If neither of these are an option, then make sure to shade any corals and slowly move them out over the course of a week or so. Scott Z. |

You can have your lighting run at any time, but I would increase the cycle to 10-12 hours.
