Post I got my ICECAP660 ballast! Have???

Ok I ASSsumed that all I would have to do is buy the bulbs and end caps (wich I did) wire it up and plug it all in! WRONG! I did not know that I would have to wire the hot, ground and, neutral to a plug! I don't have a problem doing this. I just have never done this befor! So do I buy a 3 prong 110 plug at HomeDepot and wire it to that? The instructions don't say a thing about this! So can all you PRO'S help me out please!

    Thanks,

    VTEC

Might want to wrap those wires with elec. tape for beauty sake, termal protection, safety, etc. Better yet, what I did was buy the length needed in black outdoor cord (stuff like orange ext. cord but black) pulled out the wires and ran the IC wires through it and taped the IC end and used a male plug end that screw clampped the socket end tight. Looks like it is mfg that way. Bill.

    vtec/billzie,

I have to laugh after reading that since I go around cutting off the cords from any appliance that we are throwing away, etc. I have them in all colors and sizes.

You should ALWAYS cover the wires - but I took that as a given. You can also use heat shrink wrap made for the electrical trade - it's larger than the wiring and you just place it over the whole thing and apply heat and voila, it shrink wraps your cord and looks nice and neat. I like the idea of running the wires as well but that would probably drive me nuts just due to how little room you have in there - that would be a tight fit.

In any event, best of luck to ya!

Hey thanks, I never even thought of that wrap. I'll have to give that a try. VTEC
