Halide UV Shield
I just wondered if anyone has some information on what I need for my halide fixtures. I hear you need a UV shield? If this is true, where could I go about getting one? Or making it?!
Thanks! |

A UV shield is only necessary if you are using Double-Ended bulbs; mogule base bulbs utilize their envelope as the UV shield.

If you are running a double ended bulb you will need basiclly the following
Clear tempered glass - Low E. The Low E is actually the type of coating which eleminates the UV rays. Also ask that the glass is seamed...(spelling). Basically all the sharp edges sanded.
