Question Lighting for a 90G question

Currently, I am using standard 48" corallife 50/50 and blue moon fluorescents on my tank. It is a FO tank, but I am looking for something brighter. I would like to buy either pc's, or VHO lights that I can install in my canopy because it gets tiring moving the light strip everytime you want to do anything to the tank. Should I get a retro kit to install on the canopy? Any feedback would be great. Thanks in advance

Hi Mike,

A retro kit will be what you want to install into your canopy. Since this is a FO tank and your are looking to enhance colors, VHO, PC or T-5's would be good.

Scott - Do you think this would be good deal? VHO's seem a little too expensive for me right now, but since this is a FO system, I'm thinking about getting 2 of these for 130W total. Please let me know what you think. Thanks

The wattage isn't important. I think this, or any other small high output retrokit will be just fine.

Thanks Scott. I saw this and thought, wow! $39.00 each..this would cover my 90G under the canopy for $80.00. All I want is supplemental light to go with the NO bulbs I currently use. I just like to ask before purchasing anything like this.

Thanks again,

Mike
