Actinics would be fine.
alright, well i have a 150w mh hqi on my 30gal cube tank right now, im wondering what else i can add to this light setup to enhance the color in the tank a little bit more? maybe some nice blue actinics? or vho? haha im really clueless when it comes to lighting. so if you could help me out it would be great, thanks
Actinics would be fine.

Actinic 03 would be a great addition, but where are you going to mount it?
i really have no idea... i do have a little space left in the hood on the sides for maybe one bulb on each side, but i would have to find some kind of retrofit kit.
i found some compact fluorescent lights on ebay, there are 2 55W 50/50 bulbs for about 90$, this sound good?
wait... nvm
i just found this instead...
28 Watt Compact Fluorescent
BULB:
28w PFO CFL 50/50 10K and Actinic 03 Lamp
maybe 28w is too little though?

heres a picture i made to get a better idea of what i mean. id also like to know if the way i have it in the picture wouldbe ok? i am going to place the actinic in the front becuase thats the only spot there room, and im only getting one, so will this be enough to even out the color?
Reefer769,
The 28w actinic will provide some blue coloration to your tank, but don't expect a lot from it.
well, will it give an even amount of lighting where i placed it in the drawing? also would it be worth paying 50$ for?
or would i just be better off buying a 55w pfo power compact, with an actinic 03 bulb? it is more expensive but id rather spend more money then waste money buying something that i will regret later.

I'm not sure what you mean by even amount of light? It would add a bit of blue lighting to compliment your MH. Really at this point it is a personal preference. If you are wanting to add a lot more blue to your tank, perhaps you can just go with a 20k bulb instead of adding the additional lighting?
I would try this it is almost the same price as a 55 watt PC and will be easier for you to install, and less work to maintain!![]()
awsome thanks guys.
