I think if all you are looking for is Coralline growth, that would be fine. I have Coralline growing in my sump/fuge and it is lit by a 48" shoplight with plant bulbs from the hardware store.![]()
Hello, ive been checking into some lighting options for a 55 gallon FOWLR tank. i currently have a couple of clown fish, yellow tang, and cleaner shrimp, along with about 20 pounds of live rock. as i begin to replace artificial decoration with live rock, i want to improve the lighting and so the overall quality of the aquarium. i came across 48" Coralife Aqualight™ Deluxe Series - Single Linear Strip with Two-65 watt 50/50™ Compact fluorescent Lamp Straight Pin Base. i figure its a good starting lighting system. but anyone have any feedback or heard if its worth the buy. i basically want to make sure the wattage is enough to foster some growth of the coraline algae on my live rock and give a good view of the fish. any comments are appreciated.
