Looks good Leddy, but you better nix those glass tops. They will hold heat in and you may run into temp issues. Also they will reduce the amount of light coming into the tank. I could see in the pictures, but do you have any corals in there yet? If so they will need to be acclimated to the new lighting.

I have the glass tops on right now so the fish can adjust to the new light, but I'll remove them in a few days. No corals yet, just some small polyps, and I'm giving them to my girlfriend tomorrow for her birthday. I was gonna go look for an SPS frag and clams in the morning. I think I'm gonna shoot for a montipora digitata, since they seem to be a pretty hardy stoney. Thanks for the replies fellas, talk to you later.

I picked up a 4" Squamosa clam, a montipora capricornus frag, and an acropora frag the other day. I tested my calcium, it was reading around 370 ppm. I've been dosing C-Balance, and tonight I just started to drip a gallon of kalkwasser. I'll test the calcium again in the morning. So far the clam has been fully opening up, I picked up a bottle of DT's with it. My acro frag is about 3 inches or so, it is brown/orange in color, with bright green polyps. The tips are light blue with the halides on in the day, and at night they appear to be the same color as the base. My monti-cap is green, small 2 inch frag. The rim is white, with new polyps starting to appear, so I believe thats a good sign. I took the glass tops off the tank, so far no heat problems, just tons of evaporation. I'll post some pictures tomorrow when the halides come back on, I may need an ID on the Acro.

Thanks,

Dan

Here are some pictures, not very good ones though. I got 2 crocea clams aswell. They were pretty cheap so I had to grab them. I attached my acro to a piece of rubble, before it was just a broken piece. Everything is doing great, my calcium is reading at 420ppm, dKH at 8. Today I'm going to get a 2 gallon jug so I can drip more kalk, I'm using a 1 gallon for now. Gonna buy water to mix salt, for kalk, and top off. Can anyone ID that acro? Thanks.

Dan

It is really to early to do any ID on the little guy, you can't really get a positive anyways. The way these frags morph in our little glass boxes, it is a wonder we try anyway.

Ok, so its been a while since I've been on. Since the last time I posted I have moved, what a pain it was moving the tank. I decided to go bare bottom, so far I like it. Looking into getting some more powerful pumps in the future. I have added some new corals to the tank. Unfortunately, the coral that I asked for an id on bleached and died, I tried to frag it, but with no success. My three clams died aswell, the mantles looked as if they were being pinched, so I tried freshwater dips. That seemed to help temporarily, but I think they were stressed too much. If you look at my green monti-cap from a while back you can see in the new pic that it has grown quite a bit. My monti digitata has also been doing great. I've added a blue polyp cap and some other randoms. Here are some pics.

sox got swept....oh well....classic red sox. I'm going to rescape the rocks on wedensday, I want to have some more room on top for more coral placement, make a little more surface area. I'll post some pics when its all done and cleared up.
