t8 bulbs in t12 fixture
can you put t8 bulbs in a fixture made for t12s? the light fixture in the store is using t8 bulbs (which i like much better) but is made for t12's. will the fixture or bulbs be damaged?

T8 tubes are 1" in diameter. T12 tubes are 1.5" in diameter. They require different size end caps. If you have the right size end caps and the correct ballast, the fixture itself doesn't matter.

Yes the T8's will fit in the T12 standard fixture. If you are using waterproof end caps it will not work. If you try to put T12's in a T8 fixture some times there isn't enough clearance around the bulb.
