I can't find the link to Sanjay's tests, but I think that you would probably get more par with the 15k. I know that 20k's don't have much on the par scale.
Maybe someone could pitch in here with that link, I'll keep looking in between!!
Hi,
I currently have a 150W de xde 20k over my tank with no supplementation and I'm happy with the color. I see that this 15k lamp has just come out and it seems that it also looks nice without supplementation, based on what others have said. I'm basically just looking to get better growth out of my corals, and was wondering if a 15k bulb put out more par than a 20k? Thanks.
Regards,
Todd

Thats a great website.Originally Posted by charlie

The PPFD is only 42 with a 250W version of the same 20k bulb, so what I'm guessing is putting in the iwasaki 50k would be equivalent to upgrading to a 250W version of my current bulb?
Thanks
I have never seen or heard of a 50K bulb. I don't think I've ever seen one on the shelves anywhere. Are you sure you read that right?

It is the name that Iwasaki has given their 150w DE bulb; never seen them personally though...
