I think PC's are probably your best bet for a small tank like that. What is the length of your ten gallon? What type of corals do you plan to keep? If you check out this thread, you can see what can be done with a 10 gallon:

I have to agree with Scott on this one, although I have seen people using a 150w MH pendant. They were using fans tho to help with temp swings and such.

thanks, I was going to see if I could do acros as an experiment. I want this tank to also look nice though. Some at my job is using 2 65 watt pc's on a ten gallon. But I feel that is too much light for such a small tank same with the halides that is just to much light I will be burning my little acros ONe 65 watt pc might be enough but all the hood and reflectors etc are way to long I want something that will fit the tank 20" X 10". I got a couple of maxijets form my job that I wam going to turn into a DIY wave maker. every thing else in the tank is fine it cycled with in 3 days (20lbs live sand, 20lbs live rock, nutri-sea water,) filter is a emperor 280, no protein skimmer yet waiting about 2 months so everything is good and settled. thats about it. thanks for the help. any more ideas are welcome.
