Yes MH bulbs are available in different "colors". 6500K, 10k, 12K, 14K, 20K. The K stands for kalvin... It represents the "color" of light emitted by the bulb. 6500K are more yellow looking and are closer to the sun. As you move up in kalvin the color appears to be more blue. It corelates directly to the color spectrum. 700nm are red down to 400nm blue.... Blue or 400nm (20K bulbs) penetrate the water much deeper than 6500K and are better for a deeper tank. I have also seen charts that show that a majority of corals do better under 20k. The down fall is that our eyes won't be able to pick up the oranges, reds, yellows as well with this bulb so it should be supplimented with 6500k or 10K VHO's or PC bulbs... Also I would go with 250W MH as they are easier to find as well as less expensive then 150W set ups....
That was kind of a crash course that my not be explained all that well. Maybe someone else can chime in and elaborate....
