halide question

IV GOT A OPPERTUNITY TO BUY A 175 WATT METAL HALIDE SETUP INCLUDES HOUSING, BULB, HANGING SET,BALLAST IT SEEMS TO HAVE IT ALL 4 200 BUCKS, IS THIS A GOOD DEAL???????
iM WANTING TO DO SOME SPS'S IN THE FUTURE WILL THIS ALLOW ME???
iVE GOT A PRETTY DEEP TANK ID SAY ABOUT 30 INCHES????
ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

Is this just for 1 light? It's not a bad deal but there are probably better deals to be had.

You could probably keep some of the less light intense stonies higher in your tank with a 175 like Monti's. If you wanted to get serious about them I would go for 250w halides.

thanks for the advice i think ill pass on the lights 4 right now.....any thing worth doing is worth doing right.....so i wait 4 till i have more experance and more money 4 the RIGHT lights...........thanks again jonathan

No problem! Keep in mind that if your a hand DIY'er, a DIY kit would be much easier on the wallet.
