I ordered this lighting

I wanted to upgrade the lighting in my 55 gallon FOWLR instead of having the 80 monstrous watts.

So i ordered this for my 55 gallon

http://cgi.ebay.com/ODYSSEA-48-260W-...QQcmdZViewItem

what do you guys think?

i need feedback :slap:

That would be a nice setup for a FOWLR and would even allow you to maintain so low-light requiring corals like mushrooms, some leathers, etc. You will be amazed at the difference in overall appearance of your tank and fish.

really, how can you tell which corrals and softies you can have with your current light setup.

This is one of the reasons why me and my wife got this so we can have a variety of softies to choose from.

But which ones.

PC lights are pretty nice. I have kept Blasstomousa, Galaxea, Capanella, and of course Xenia under these. Mushrooms, Anthelia, Hammer, and most leathers will also be good to go under PC lights. You can put together a very pretty tank with that light.

Nope, I don't have PC lights anymore, went to Halides about 3 years ago. That is basically a list of the stuff I was able to keep when I had PC, there may be more corals too, that is just what I had.

No, I went to halides when I upgraded from my 55 to a 135 bulit into the wall of our house. My PC fixture was woefully under powered for a 6ft tank. Plus I knew I wanted to go SPS eventually so it was just a logical choice. Now that I have MH I would never go back, MH is just the coolest thing. Not only do I get to keep whatever I want, I also get glimmer lines in the tank from the single source light shining through the water. I have since downgraded back to a 4ft tank (90 gallon) and the thought of going back to PC or t5 never crossed my mind. I had to have a canopy custom built because most of the LFS around here did not/do not have a clue about MH lighting or much SPS for that matter. (One is coming around though.) I have always been about quality over quantity and MH is the top of the line in my opinion. Other forms of lighting are nice, but MH is the best. Plus it really gives the neighbors something to talk about... WHY is that house GLOWING?

I have been asked what I "grow" in my house by neighbors before. I tell them ACROPORA and they look at me with a blank stare!

I know for a fact that there has been somebody else besides my neighbors looking in my basement window, but I have never been hasseled about it.
