It could be bad if you have corals. Black lights let a LOT of UV through.
Is ther anything negative on having a black light over your saltwater tank just to make the fishes color really bright?;;

hmmm! i wonder if anybody has tried this or done this before. im going to try this, and see im goint to have some easier to keep corrals due to trying to work with my valentini puffer.
Try a search... Lots of info on black lights. Generally considered NOT GOOD!

I know that I have responded to this same question at least two or three times over the past few years.
