What Lights Should I Use
hey all its been a few weeks snice ive posted but i got more then what i asked for xmas. my dad got me a 75 galllon reef ready, and after he bought it his good friend left the hobby givign him his 125 with everything else needed. so i gave my bro the 75 and my dad gave me the 125. each tank is standard in size (125 =72x18x22) and the (75=48x18x20). heres the lighting supplys i have.
1 800 watt ballast, made to run 2 400 watt lamps. 2 175 watt ballasts, each running their own MH 1 2x65 watt PC ballast so what stuff should i put on each tank thanks bye.

The 2 175's should be good enough for the 75.
The 400's are good for the 125 except trying to run 2 lamps on a 6 foot tank can cause problems because the bracing is usually right in the area you need to place the 2 lamps for equal spacing. Make sure the lamps are high enough that they dont melt the braces. Now you could get greedy and use a 400 at each end of the 125 and use the 175 in the middle and let your brother find his own lights ![]() |
